AEGON Financial Park

Nelson Electric not only engages in design work. They also excel in renovation projects. Renovations can quickly prove to be just as challenging as a design project. They take large amounts of careful planning and organization skills to smoothly execute one. Through Nelson Electric's extensive knowledge and experience in the industry, the remodel of the first and second floors of AEGON Financial Park were successfully completed on time and on budget.

AEGON the Ranch

Nelson Electric designed the electrical portion of this job and completed the electrical construction. The finished building houses office space, mail and printing operation, conference rooms, a storm shelter and storage areas. This AEGON USA project is quite unique in that the interior is designed in a rural farm theme. Two silos and two barns are featured within the building. Some of the electrical features include a closed transition automatic transfer switch, 500 kW diesel generator, compact florescent high bay lighting and a 125kVA UPS.

Alliant Energy

Nelson Electric provided electrical maintenance for this 25-story building in downtown Cedar Rapids. We currently have 2-3 full-time electricians working on various projects.

Farmer State Bank

This 16,450 square foot addition to the bank almost doubled the existing building and is a flagship for Farmer State Bank. Nelson worked on the new addition but also the remodel of the first floor and the lower level. The new addition included a variety of new systems including elevator, fire alarm, and indirect lighting. The project was a particular challenge to work with the existing circuitry and recognize this wiring.

OPN Architects

Since 1979 OPN has been providing their professional services to the public and have two office locations in the state of Iowa. Nelson Electric had the rare opportunity to use unique lighting techniques and fixtures to satisfy OPN's creative appetite. During this project Nelson Electric used LED lights to illuminate important features of the building as well as installing a fire alarm system throughout the entire structure.

Ruffalo Cody

Ruffalo Cody has a new headquarters facility located on the north end of the Kirkwood campus in Cedar Rapids. This single story building houses offices, a call center, and a training facility.

Starbucks

Nelson has wired 10 stores in Eastern Iowa for Arnold Madson out of Minnesota. Currently we are completing another store located in the Coral North facility in Coralville IA.
